As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Following Jesus isn’t something we do alone. We all need fellow disciples and friends to cheer us on, pick us up when we fall down, celebrate with us, grieve with us, and pray with us. We grow in community learning from each other and inspiring one another.

At Emmanuel, we believe one of the best places to do this is in home groups. Our home groups meet weekly in different homes around Woodley, and are made up of people of different ages and walks of life. In each group there are those who have walked with Jesus for a long time, and some just starting out on the journey. What unites us is our shared desire to get to know God better.

Our home groups are led by their members and decide as a group what format works best for them. A typical evening might include looking at a Bible passage or watching a video and asking questions about it together; or it might involve sharing how your week has gone and how you can support and pray for each other; or it might be a social with games and a shared meal.

We have groups that meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
